Winter Series 2 – 15/2/09
The second of the Winter Series saw an increase in entries and, fortunately, a slight increase in temperature. Signing on and the general running of the meeting was much smoother this month but we still have some work to do to make it even better.
There was some great action on the day, most notable was Jay Southern (55) and Tom Shipman (222) in the Senior Max Final. These two drivers showcased all the attributes that younger drivers should aspire to, serious competition and good sportsmanship. Jay Southern just pipped Tom Shipman at the line and the handshake before they entered parc ferme said it all.
Cadets, Stuart Middleton (75) and Tom Maddison (77) gave a great preview of what’s to come in the upcoming season. Tom Maddison took first place (on novice plates) in the Final to earn himself this months Featured Driver profile.
